Scotland and the elections

North of boundary has an interesting election landscape. The election is basically between labour and the Scottish nationalists SNP.

The political culture of the Scots is left of centre and the Tories and Unionist party is merely tolerated up North. The Liberal democratics are in the green shots stage of political development and therefore has no impact on the elections.

The SNP is a Labour Party in nationalisic drag. Apart, from their independence demand, there isn’t a fagpaper between LP and the SNP in all other areas of policy and politics. LP believes in the Union but not unionist. It created devolution to take the bite from the nationalist but failed. The nationalist also have failed to create the beachhead towards independence. Aside this detail, a microscope would be hard pressed to tell the difference between both Scottish political powers.

The SNP there sits as power broker in the event the Tories implode at the UK general elections. There are structurally political reasons why LP can not win power on its own stream. Its leader is not its strong point, he will be Trump like on the left. He is not a team player and unable to attract loyalty from others as he not loyal himself. He lacks the gravitas for the office, he a bad mid level manager without ambition for a higher position. His nomination for office was a laugh for those who nominated him but who is laughing now.

The nasty Tory party is for all that is unscottish. They used Scotland for their social and fiscal experiments in 1980s with the community charges. They are anti all the progressive instincts of the 21st century.  Their leader, one Mrs T May has delusions of grandeur. She acted and acts she some sort of North Korea supreme leader who called an early elections because she didn’t want to brook any opposition to her
