It’s a Scottish name rather has Scottish origins, meaning the son of law. I had been told that from infancy I had indicated that all I wanted to be was to be a lawyer and what my parents perhaps hoped was that their son would be a lawyer. That may have influenced the decision to name their son, Lawson. It is usually a last name not a first name but in my case, it’s my first name.
